Science Excursion & Exploration Activities
The Science Excursion involves educational visits to prominent research centres nationwide, offering learning opportunities and practical engagement at multiple locations. There are approximately six tour routes available, and participants are required to pre-register for their preferred tour route in advance.
Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO)
FIBO (Institute of Field Robotics) is a research institute at KMUTT, specializing in robotics and automation systems. It focuses on innovation in industrial, medical, and service robotics, aiming to develop skilled professionals and cutting-edge technologies to meet industry demands.
Activities
Introduction to FIBO, 3D keychain design workshop, exploration of research stations (virtual aquarium, smart factory, AR, and VR), and hands-on assembly and control of a robot arm. Activities may vary based on FIBO’s current research.
Institute of Food Research and Product Development
Institute of Food Research and Product Development (IFRPD) has officially been established since September 30, 1968. IFRPD has contributed as a research organization cover food related works. They assist food industries and small manufacturers by applying technology to develop their products as well as provide technical services to food industries and governmental organizations to solve food problems.
Activities
Introduce the Institute of Food Research and Product Development (IFRPD) and provide an overview of its work. Visit the Food Safety and Quality Assurance department, tour a food production facility, and participate in hands-on training on the development of fermented health foods.
Aromatic farm (AF) Damnoen Saduak, Ratchaburi
Aromatic Farm, A Coconut Farm Becomes An Organic Success
IAromatic Farm has turned a small startup into a prize-winning company that wields an outsized influence in the field of aromatic coconuts. By combining local wisdom with new technology that allows farmers to monitor each tree, the company has become a paragon of sustainability. As a way of repaying the neighboring farmers who taught her their hard-won skills, the founder has turned her business into a learning center featuring nine different agricultural stations that cover everything from waste management to pest control. True to its eco-friendly mission, around 97 percent of the waste that the farm produces is recycled.

The National Food Institute (NFI): 2008, Arun Amarin Rd, Bang Yi Khan
The National Food Institute (NFI), established in 1996 with government and private sector collaboration, supports Thailand’s food industry development by addressing sector challenges and fostering growth. It includes the Food Intelligence Center (FIC), which gathers and analyzes industry data to inform policy-making and aid businesses. Additionally, NFI offers over 100 training courses aimed at improving technical and regulatory skills in the food industry, enhancing workforce competency to meet international standards and adapt to global changes.
Activities
- Introduction to the National Food Institute (09:00 AM – 10:00 AM)
- Welcome session and overview of the institute’s mission and core services.
- Presentation on NFI’s efforts to promote food innovation, support SMEs in reaching international markets, and provide training programs on Thai cuisine.
2. Tour of the Thai Food Museum (10:15 AM – 11:15 AM)
- Guided tour through the Thai Food Museum, showcasing Thai cuisine’s history, ingredients, and unique aspects.
3. Lunch Break (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
- Lunch is provided in the dining area, with a selection of Thai dishes.
4. Hands-On Thai Cooking Workshop (12:45 PM – 02:45 PM)
- Interactive cooking session where participants will prepare a traditional Thai dish with guidance from NFI’s culinary experts.
- Participants will enjoy the meal they have prepared.
5. Q&A Session (03:00 PM – 03:30 PM)
- Open floor for questions and discussions with NFI representatives.
